NEW ENROLMENTS START NOW FOR CLASSES COMMENCING WED 3RD MAR 2021.
New classes commence every first Wednesday of the month. Please arrive at 6:15 pm for enrolment.

Puppy Class starts at 6.45 pm and will run for approximately an hour.
Beginners, Grades 1, 2 and 3 classes will start at 7pm and run for about an hour.
What to bring
On your first night, please arrive at least 30 minutes early with your dog, treats, to complete administrative work. Please wear closed in shoes -- no thongs or sandals.
Please bring a good quantity of high value treats. Treats should be no larger than the size of a pea, of something your dog finds very tempting (eg BBQ'd sausage, hot dog, chicken, or cheese). Ordinary kibble is not very rewarding when training new behaviours. We provide all new members with a waist treat bag to hold the treats.
We will need to confirm we have received your paperwork and payment, and have you signed off on the attendance register.
All your paperwork should be done electronically before you arrive.
Please toilet your dog before entering the facility. A walk round the car park will usually do this. Use a poo bag if necessary.
We do not allow check chains or pinch collars. Please make sure your dog has one of the following:

COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS/RULES
- Stay at home if unwell or have a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath.
- Hand sanitising stations are on-site. Please use it and wash your hands regularly.
- Please feel free to wear a mask, if it makes you feel more comfortable.
- If you become unwell during the event, please contact our COVID-19 Coordinator.
- Please maintain 1.5 metre Social Distancing AT ALL TIMES.
- The gates for entry to the venue will be open 30 mins prior to the class.
- Members will be denied entry if they have been overseas, or from a hot spot within the past 14 days; or if they are COVID-19 symptomatic; or have been in close contact with someone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19; or have been COVID-19 tested in the previous 14 days and are awaiting a result.
- DogzCairns Inc retains the right to refuse entry to anyone suspected of having COVID-19 related symptoms. Please get tested, stay in quarantine until you get a negative result, and we'll see you afterwards.
- Please do not touch each others' dogs.
Children....No spectators during COVID-19 Restrictions
Are usually welcome, under adult control at all times, as their safety is paramount to us. Please remember that they are surrounded by a large number of dogs and a challenging play area. (They must be wearing closed in shoes or joggers. Accidents do unfortunately happen and we cannot be held responsible. Please provide them with an activity to entertain them for the hour, they are welcome but this is dog time.)

During the Wet Season, if it is too dangerous to drive, dog training is cancelled. If it looks too wet, stay at home and keep dry. We would like to try to avoid accidents on and off the field.

At Ivanhoe's RLFC
Leave the Highway at Reed Road, take a right at the first roundabout into Cheviot Street. Take the next left (into Leisure Park Road) after the library, past the swimming pool and the Scout hut and continue to the end of Leisure Park Road, and turn left into the carpark. Come into the grounds through the gate at the Northern end of the building.
