We are a dedicated volunteer staff with over 150 years of experience between us. We are all members of Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and delighted to be part of a community, supporting dog friendly training. In this style of training, we try to manage the dog's environment, with routine and positive rewards, so that the dog can make the correct choices.
Jim has over 30 years of dog training experience, and embraces positive reinforcement methods. He knows how to get the best from his pupils and achieves great results. He has a talent for working with troubled dogs, and is a great dog groomer.
Sharon is a multi-skilled instructor with huge people skills and research capabilities. She believes that no dog is too old to train. The dogs and handlers are guided into being well-adjusted and thoroughly socialised. She has two Miniature Schnauzers (Bosun - 11 years old, who is in Masters Agility; and Briny - 3 years old, who will start agility trials in 2018.
John is a long term dog instructor, covering all levels of obedience and agility. A veteran competitor, he readily shares his experiences with his classes.
Terri is a very creative and energetic Instructor, who inspires all her classes, and is fun to work with. She is passionate about training handlers to have great dogs, and likes to add variety to her techniques.
Mick with his dog King, can always be seen practising what they preach, when it comes to dog training. A very experienced Obedience competitor, who now just enjoys passing on his knowledge and experience to others.
Caleb, started out as a student, who successfully trained his first dog to Grade 3 level and is now training his second dog. He has now completed his Instructors training and loves to teach the Puppies and Beginners Classes.
Wendy's passion is dogs, dogs, and dogs. She's a veteran kennel carer, and became an instructor after passing Grade 3 with her gentle German Shepherd. Her approach to training is positive and consistent.
Joseph too started off as a student with his dog Delilah. After she completed Grade 3, she successfully obtained titles in five different events in her first year of competition. Now he's training his second dog, and enjoys instructing in Beginners and Grade 1 classes.
Rebecca successfully trained her dog Stella to Grade 3 at DogzCairns before becoming an instructor. She takes a very gentle and positive approach to training and has now achieved two titles with her dog in her first year of competition.
