Instructor Biographies
We are a dedicated volunteer staff with over 150 years of experience between us. We are all delighted to be part of a community, supporting dog friendly training. In this style of training, we try to manage the dog's environment, with routine and positive rewards, so that the dog can make the correct choices.

Jim has over 36 years of dog training experience, and embraces positive reinforcement methods. He knows how to get the best from his pupils and achieves great results. He has a talent for working with troubled dogs, and is a great dog groomer. His Border Collie "Bree" has obtained the following competitive titles: CCD, CD, RN

Sharon is a multi-skilled instructor with huge people skills and research capabilities. She believes that no dog is too old to train. The dogs and handlers are guided into being well-adjusted and thoroughly socialised. She has two Miniature Schnauzers ("Bosun" - 14 years old, who retired at the Masters level with the following competitive titles: CCD, RN, ADO(2), ADX, AD, JDX, JD, SPDM, SPDX, SPD, GDX, GD, SDX, SD; and "Briny" - 4 years old, who started trialing in 2018, and achieved her first qualification in Rally-O Novice in 2019.

Wendy's passion is dogs, dogs, and dogs. She's a veteran kennel carer with over 10 years experience, and currently works at a dog shelter. So Wendy is very familiar with many breeds and canine personalities. She became an instructor after passing Grade 3 with her gentle German Shepherd. Her approach to training is positive and consistent. Wendy teaches Puppies to Grade 3 classes.

Joseph too started off as a student with his two Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dogs "Delilah" and "Hagrid". Delilah has gained the following competitive titles: AD, JD, SPD,GD, SD. Hagrid has obtained the JD competitive title. Joseph enjoys instructing in Beginners and Grade 1 classes.

Rebecca successfully trained her dog Stella to Grade 3 at DogzCairns before becoming an instructor. She is continually studying modern positive approaches to dog training, and is committed to providing progressive innovative ideas. She will provide unique solutions to train each dog as an individual. She is passionate about establishing good foundation behaviours that build to a well rounded dog and handler team.She has now achieved the following competitive titles with her dog: CD, CCD, RA, RN.

Kim successfully trained her dog Kudo to Grade 3 at DogzCairns before becoming an instructor. She is very patient with dogs and their handlers, and takes a positive approach to obedience training.
